Who is responsible
Montoyer is the data controller for this site, Rue Montoyer, 1000 Brussels, Belgium. Write to [email protected] for anything about your data.
What is stored
Browsing the offer list and the analytics needs no account and stores nothing about you beyond the cookies listed below.
If you create an account, the site stores:
- your email address, your display name, your time zone, a hash of your password, and the dates of your registration and last sign-in;
- your applications: the offers you track, their phase, priority, dates, application number, outcome, your comments and the events you add;
- the documents you choose to upload. Uploading is optional, and no CV is ever required;
- your saved searches and the items of your inbox;
- whether you asked for the daily email, and when your address was confirmed and last written to.
A CV or an application form can contain sensitive details. Upload only what you are comfortable keeping here.
If you question the site through an AI assistant, at the address /mcp, the site does not know who you are and receives nothing of your conversation. It records which list the assistant asked for, which filters it used, by name and without their values, and the name the assistant gives of itself. The words of a search are kept only when it finds nothing. The network address the call comes from, usually the assistant's own, is kept for a short time to hold back a caller that asks too much.
Why
Only to provide the service you signed up for: showing you your applications and reminding you of deadlines. Your data is not sold, not shared, and not used for advertising or profiling. The site carries no third-party tracker.
Who can read it
You, and the site administrator. The administrator can read your applications, comments and documents, and cannot change them. No other user can see any of it.
Your calendar feed is the one exception to keep in mind: anyone who has its address can read it. It carries titles, dates and links only, never your comments or documents, and you can replace its address at any time in your settings.
How long
- Your account and applications are kept until you delete them.
- Uploaded documents are deleted when you have not signed in for 24 months. No warning is sent: the only email of the site is the daily one you can ask for.
- Deleting your account removes everything at once. The hosting provider keeps its own restore copies for about two weeks.
Where
The site is hosted by OVH, in the European Union.
If you ask for the daily email, its messages are sent through Resend, a company of the United States. Resend receives your address and the text of each message, which names the job offers you track and your saved searches, and keeps them for a time on its own systems. It receives nothing if you do not ask for the daily email.
Your profile
"My profile" is optional. It keeps what you choose to enter: your current status, institution and grade, your nationalities and place of residence, your diplomas, languages, experience by domain, and what you are looking for. It is used to show you the offers that fit, and for nothing else. Nationality is asked because most posts require EU citizenship. Residence is kept for a later estimate of allowances; nothing is computed from it today.
Only you and the site's administrator can read your profile. It is part of the export of your data, it can be emptied at any time from its own page, and it is deleted with your account.
How the site counts its use
The site records each page viewed and each action taken, to learn what is used, where people give up and what fails. The record holds the time, the name of the page or action, the offer concerned, the kind of device, and the site you came from on arrival, or the name a link gives for where it was posted. Once per visit the page also tells the site that a browser showed it, so that programs reading the site are not counted as visitors; that message holds nothing else. It holds no IP address and nothing you type in a form. A search keyword is kept only when the search found nothing. On the pages that present the site to a visitor, it also records which links are followed and which parts of the page were reached.
The site's own record stays on its own server. No other company receives it and no advertising uses it. It is kept for 13 months, then only daily totals remain. The administrator can read it, per visitor and per account.
On your first visit the site asks whether it may remember your browser between visits. With "Yes", a cookie named visitor lets your visits be counted as one person's, and what you did before creating an account is joined to that account. With "No", or when your browser sends "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control", each visit is counted on its own.
Your answer today: none yet. Change it: Yes or No.
Besides its own record, the site uses Ahrefs Web Analytics on its public pages, for visitors who are not signed in. That service counts page views and where visitors come from. It sets no cookie. It receives the address of the page viewed and the technical details a browser sends with any request, and it is run by Ahrefs Pte. Ltd. It is not loaded once you are signed in, nor on the sign-in, registration and password pages, nor when your browser sends "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control".
Once you are signed in, what your account does is recorded under it whatever your answer, since the site needs it to work and to help you. This record is in the export of your data and is deleted with your account.
Cookies
session: keeps you signed in, for 30 days after your last visit.csrf: protects the forms against requests forged by other sites.theme,sidebar,menu-catalogueandmenu-administration: remember your display choices.visit: tells the pages of one visit apart from another's. It ends when you close the browser.rememberand, after "Yes",visitor: your answer on counting visits, and the identifier of your browser, for 13 months.
All four are needed for the site to work, so no consent banner is shown. To slow down automated sign-ups, the network address behind a registration or a failed sign-in is counted for up to a day.
Your rights
From your settings you can correct your details, export everything the site holds about you in one archive, and delete your account. You can also ask the controller for access, correction or erasure, and you can lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
